For my first card I created a cracked glass accent embellishment out of a circular peice of cardstock. The sentiment on this card is one of my all time favourite sentiments :)
And a close up of the cracked glass accent:
For this second card I stamped and distressed a mailing tag before covering the whole thing in embossing powder and cracking it. It was fun to play around with different sizes and types of materials for creating the cracked glass.
Supplies (bike card):
Stamps: Melody Ross "Love Life" set from Unity Stamp Co., August 2011 Kit of the Month (Sentiment) from Unity Stamp Co.
Ink: Adirondack Espresso, Versamark (for embossing), Rubber Stampede chocolate brown ink (for distressing)
Paper: Basic Grey
Accents: Twill ribbon, Prima flower, Avery mailing tag, MFT Dienamics Scalloped edged die, Sizzix embossing folder, Clear Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel from Ranger, Copic Markers
Instructions (bike card): Stamp bicycle image and sentiments in Espresso Ink onto manila mailing tag, color with Copic markers, distress edges and emboss with 6 layers of UTEE using Versamark ink and heat gun. Allow to cool, crack and adhere ribbon and flower accent to tag. Distress edges of beige paper and dry emboss with circle embossing folder. Mat onto dark brown paper and then onto cardstock base. Add three strips of die cut scalloped strips that have distressed across bottom of card. Adhere stamped image to card base with dimensional adhesive.
Supplies (flower card):
Stamps: Donna Downey Insightful Meadows set from Unity Stamp Co., Worn Music Backgrounder stamp from Unity Stamp Co.
Ink: Adirondack Espresso, Rubber Stampede chocolate brown ink (for distressing), Versamark (for embossing), Ranger Tumbled Glass Distress Ink
Papers: Basic Grey, Georgia Pacific Cardstock
Accents: Offray brown ribbon, Prima flower, Fiskars scalloped border punch
Instructions (flower card): Stamp floral images and sentiment in espresso ink onto teal paper, distress edges and adhere to card base. Add strips of floral patterned paper and scalloped brown paper to card. Stamp music backgrounder in blue ink, floral images in espresso ink onto white cardstock, ink edges and add 6 layers of UTEE using heat gun and Versamark ink. Allow to cool and crack. Add strip of ribbon, image panel and embellish with bow and flower.
