Oh deer---a little sneak peek

Well, April is only a few days away and a new Stamp of the Month will be available at Cornish Heritage Farms.  April's "Fawn in the Grove" stamp is a beauty.  I loved this stamp so much that I did three cards in a matter of minutes!  The stamp looks fabulous just stamped on it's own or even coloured in.

Here's a look at the first card I created.  I actually used some of the packaging (the cover sheet from the collection pack) from the Cosmo Cricket Earth Love set.  I made some lollipop flowers out of the cover sheet too as my embellishments.  Stay tuned on April 1st for the other cards that I created.

Glitterous maximus!

Hmmm, I have no idea where that title came from but let's roll with it LOL!!. 

As promised, I'd like to share another card I made with the Peacock Scene backgrounder that was released last Friday at Cornish Heritage Farms. 

This one is BLING to the extreme.  The image itself was heat embossed with glitter powder, the flowers were sprayed with glimmer mist and the flowers and embossed surfaces were all glittered with Stickles.  As usual, the photography sucks does not do this card justice so I added a few close ups for some more detail.

An amazing new peacock scene backgrounder!

Cornish Heritage Farms is releasing a FABULOUS new Peacock Scene backgrounder stamp today!!  I could not *wait* to get my hands on this stunning stamp.  The image itself is so pretty that you can just stamp it onto cardstock/paper OR it can be used for various embossing/resist techniques or coloured in.

This is the first card I made with the stamp.  I just stamped the image onto blue distressed Basic Grey cardstock in blue ink and then created my card. I used Basic Grey papers, a Cuttlebug embossing folder for texture, and a Basic Grey chipboard embellishment.

I'll be back later with two more cards I created with this stamp.  The rest of the design team seemed to love this stamp as much as I did and the backgrounder gallery is overflowing with samples.  Be sure to stop by later today to check out all the wonderful projects.

A new card sketch blog!

I'm not sure if you're aware, but there is a new card sketch blog in town and it's called cardabilities (sister blog to the layout blog sketchabilities).  Yours truly is going to be a member of the first design team!!  I love working with sketches and I'm looking forward to working with all the ladies on the team.  Stay tuned for my first card coming up on April 15th.

My big reveal!!

A few weeks ago, Tara (whom I "met" on a former Canadian scrapbooking site) contacted me and asked me if I would give her a hand with her new venture.  Tara has started her own Canadian-based kit club called Up the Street Scrapbooking!! 

She asked me if I would be interested in designing with her March kit and of course I jumped at the chance since I know she has impeccable taste in scrapbook supplies and it would be a great kick in the pants to get something other than cards done LOL!! 

March's kit is truly DEVINE.  There are lots of amazing products from Cosmo Cricket, Studio Calico, Prima, Shimmerz and the list goes on and on.......I'm totally useless at mixing and matching suppliers so I LOVE kits that do it all for me. 

So without further ado, I'd like to show you the first layout that I created with the kit.

Warm (and Fuzzy) Greetings

Since winter is almost over (HOPEFULLY!!!) I thought I better share this winter card that I created a while ago (based on a CPS sketch).  In order to add some warm fuzziness to the Shady Tree Studio Skate Scene image from Cornish Heritage Farms, I added some flocking powder to the mitts, skates and hat (see close up below).

Hello friend, I'm just dropping you a line

This week at Cornish Heritage Farms TWO new Sara England stamps have been released:  Best Friends and Fishing with my Dog.  I love the simplicity of these images.  They are AWESOME for colouring (either with Copics or other media) and can also be paper pieced if you desire.

YES, it's true....I've been SCRAPBOOKING *gasp*

It's been a LONG time since I've done any scrapbook pages but guess what I've been working on?!?!?  Of course I have literally THOUSANDS of photos of my new daughter to get to, so the sooner the better LOL!!

Actually, today I'm sharing only a small peek with you today of something *secret* I've been working on.  Let's just say you'll get to see more on March 15th *wink wink*.  I'll hope you'll stop by then and check out the reveal of my layout and the deets on my secret ;)

Make a Wish; Thomas Kinkade style

Today I'd like to share a Thomas Kinkade card that I finished off last week.  It's been a while since I coloured one of these art-like images, but I must say that I'm pretty darn proud of how the colouring turned out.  Most of the image was coloured using Prismacolor pencils blended with Gamesol but I did use some Copic markers for the sky and some of the greens for the trees.

I know you're probably thinking "Wow, that must have taken forever".  Well, it does BUT, with these large detailed images I usually don't sit down and colour them all at once---I find it too overwheming.  I'll just leave the image on my desk and colour parts of it when I get the chance---one day I might colour the house and then later on the walkway and well etc. etc.  The actual colouring itself is not really that difficult in my opinion.  I usually just take a lot of time to pick my colours rather than the actual act of colouring itself.

If you ever get a chance to try one of these beautiful images, give it a try!!

It's a BEAUTIFUL Monday morning in Ontario (yeah!!). 

This morning I'd like to share a Thank You card I created using my "Apple for You" Pure Innocence stamp from My Favorite Things.  This was a pretty quick card as I used the Scenic Route tree motif paper as my focal point and then just added the stamped image and  sentiment.

Sweet One

I found a  bag of partially finished stamped items in my craft room a while ago this was one of the images that I came across.  I forgot how much  I *love* this image!!  The little girl in the stamp also happens to be the daughter of my friend Lesley (how cool is that!!).

I stamped the image in Espresso ink and then coloured the image with Copic markers. I used a stipple brush and applied some Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) over the entire  image.  In order to "age" the prima flower, I stamped it with the Vintage Text Scrapblock in brown ink.  I also added a ton of texture to the card by using sewing, a Cuttlebug embossing folder, burlap ribbon and a wood button.

Playing with scraps and some March Madness

First of all, Cornish Heritage Farms is having a March Madness SALE for the next three days on backgrounders and Scrapblocks.  This Thursday, Friday & Saturday (March 4th thru 6th) for every Backgrounder or Scrapblock you purchase you will get a second one of the same value 1/2 price!!

Now onto today's project.  One of my local stores/on-line site (The Scrapping Nook) has relocated with a new owner and is having a Grand Opening on-line crop.  One of the challenges was to create two tags based on a few Page Maps tag sketches.  I dug through my scrap bin and found some Collage Press papers and whipped up this tag.  I intend to make it into a card but I really loved working on the smaller surface.  The stamps on the tag are from the All Things Considered Botanical Bliss set from Cornish Heritage Farms (I forgot how much I LOVE this set!!)

Stitchy and krafty with Charlotte Ketto

This week's blogaversary challenge from Joanne B. was to use stitching and kraft paper on a card.  This is the card I made for the challenge. I doubled up on my challenges today and also used Bella sketch BSC86 from Splitcoaststampers.

For my card I used some kraft cardstock and embossed it with a floral Quickutz embossing folder.  Then I was able to use up some scraps of some Basic Grey Origins papers and took the sewing machine for a run for the first time in a LONG time. 

I stamped the Ketto image directly onto the grid patterned paper and coloured her with Copic markers.  I paper pieced the dress and purse.

Elegant white on white congrats card

First of all let me say my photography of this card totally stinks!!  I really need to learn to use the manual settings on my camera.   The flowers are more of a white/cream tone and the accents on the embossing is white Liquid pearls not gold. 

Anyways, now for the details.  This weekend I saw two different challenges on line to create a white only card so I decided to give it a try.  I must say I LOVE how this card turned out (it's so much prettier IRL!!).  I used two different Quickutz embossing folders and layered them on a scalloped base.  The flowers and pearls are from Prima and I even located a white metal sentiment (Making Memories) in my stash.  To add more interest to the top embossed portion I added some dots of Ranger Liquid Pearls.
